Blue Pearl (Granite)

Blue Pearl

Blue Pearl, the most famous of the Larvik Stones, is a distinctive blue stone embedded with lustrous crystals of feldspar.

Like any natural stone, it can vary in color from slab to slab, and even from within a single surface. Some may be closer to silver in tone, while others may have more of a blue cast.

The stone was formed from magma 290 million years ago, hardened below the surface under extreme pressure and temperature, and cooled down slowly. In turn, this process created the blue and silver flecks which run throughout the stone’s surface.

It is extracted from the bedrock quarries of Norway, and is not found anywhere else in the world.

Blue Pearl is a great addition to every modern kitchen.

Should you intend to use this particular stone for your home, remember to pick neutral colors for the room. This way it will keep the focus on the countertop. A light shade of cream, off-white, or even light blue works perfectly with the silver shimmers of the stone.
